Dell S3225QC: for mixed work and play
The Dell’s 120Hz ceiling still covers 4K 120Hz console output and feels much smoother on the desktop than a 60Hz monitor. Its USB-C input carries video and up to 90W charging, while the built-in speakers remove another device from the desk. The stand adjusts for height, tilt and swivel. It is less compelling if a high-end gaming PC is bought specifically to run above 120 frames per second.
RTINGS’ S3225QC review found sharp 4K text overall, but noted colour fringing around some letters and the OLED burn-in risk from persistent static content. A few Amazon AU owners also report coil whine when using USB-C power, while other reviews are positive about the display. The decision
Buy the ASUS for 4K PC gaming above 120Hz, more video inputs and a separate audio setup. Buy the Dell when one USB-C cable, 4K desktop space and occasional 120Hz gaming describe the actual workload. If the screen will show the same spreadsheets or application controls all day, every day, an LCD may be the lower-maintenance choice; OLED’s contrast and response time bring more benefit to varied games and video than to a static desktop.
